Mapping - Digital Culture by Dominique Cardon

Large-format poster (A1: 59.4 × 84.1 cm) designed as a critical mapping and data visualization of contemporary digital socio-technical structures. The content is based on chapter 4 of Dominique Cardon's book “Culture numérique” (2019) to analyze and visually represent the challenges, actors, and mechanisms of today's digital world.

Objective :
Produce a critical examination of digital infrastructure through images and text, making visible and accessible the complexity of the socio-technical systems that structure our relationship with digital technology. Transform dense theoretical content into a concise and educational graphic representation.

Technique :
  • A1 format allowing for remote reading and a detailed approach
  • Visual mapping that organizes information and its relationships hierarchically
  • Data visualization that translates abstract concepts into understandable graphic elements
  • Balance between text (theoretical summary) and images (diagrams, charts, infographics)
  • Information design structuring content to promote understanding and eye movement
